Guests of Casa Xixim are invited to experience this sacred ritual through the villa’s own house altar and by visiting Tulum pueblo’s festival, altars, regional cuisine, and storytelling that connects past and present. It’s a heartfelt tribute to ancestry, community, and the enduring spirit of the Mayan people.

Tropical Luxury with a Sentimental Touch

A Hanal Pixán Experience at Casa Xixim features a vibrant tribute to the rich culinary heritage of the Yucatán Peninsula while tapping into the villa’s phenomenal epicurean offerings and beachfront amenities. Hanal Pixán-inspired dishes, crafted especially for Casa Xixim by the renown Chef Joaquin Cardoso of Loup Mexico City and executed by Casa Xixim’s talented inhouse chefs, honor Mayan tradition by blending ancestral flavors with contemporary technique.

Selections include scratch-made tamales wrapped in regional banana leaves – a traditional Mayan dish for festive occasions, stuffed with a variety of fillings such as duck, pork, chicken, or vegetarian accompanied by chayitas, a traditional mayan delicacy made with chaya (known as Mayan spinach), served with fresh salsas, guacamole, and escabeche.

A special beachside Hanal Pixán dining table is thoughtfully curated and adorned with cempasúchil (marigolds), eucalyptus, and sugar skulls, creating an immersive and evocative atmosphere that celebrates life, memory, and tradition.
